On my desktop machine running

I still have the same problems (message #22). Running the same system
on a netbook there is no problem. I really feel this is something to do
with display settings... but could never find what it was. It is not
that big a deal to worry about (IMHO).

1. Navigate to "Get Software" > "For Purchase" > "Hello X Adventure",
and choose "Buy...".
2. Sign on.
3. Fill out the payment form correctly, and choose "Review Payment".
4. Scroll to the bottom and choose "Submit Payment".
5. Watch as the payment is completed.
6. Authenticate when requested.

What happens: Ubuntu Software Center navigates, by itself, from the
software item screen back to the software listing.
What should happen: USC should stay on the software item screen,
showing the installation progress bar.

"It would not be possible to open a 2.8GB file in a 32 bits system, whatever the
application is, if it reads it completely as gedit does.

The reason for that is simple: on a 32bits architecture, a process can only map
3 GB of memory. If you consider 2.8GB of content, with all the required
bookkeeping information (like the btree used for storing the files lines), the
libraries and so on would be much over the 3GB limit.

Hence the error message here:
0x89689c "%s: failed to allocate %u bytes", args1=0xbfffeb0c "pi\211")

Which itself cannot be displayed (the "NULL" you see) because the final message
cannot be allocated...

I suggest either you split your file or you use another adapted text reader
(which won't need to allocate the entirety of the file, as opposed to a
full-fledged editor) to read it properly..."

It looks like a thread deadlock on a semaphore.

USB Mass Storage was not enabled. Just to be sure, I first disabled
-all- plugins, exited, restarted, then enabled the iPod plugin, and
still got the hang.

Attached is a stack-trace obtained by running a debuggable python
under gdb (using a modified /usr/bin/exaile script).
After the hang I typed Control-C to get the attention of gdb, and it
reported stopping the process at

0x00007ffff7bccb50 in sem_wait () from /lib/libpthread.so.0

Please see the attached gdb log file for a complete stack trace, which
also shows some python code context.

I have tried both of these work-arounds and they do not fix this issue.
I cannot get so far as to even boot into the 10.04 LiveCD desktop
(unless it plans to time out after 20-30 minutes--haven't tried).

My system is a Mac Mini (mid 2010) with a Corsair F120 SSD, and I can
provide more information if it would be helpful. However, it is
identical to most of the information posted here, except that the work-
arounds do not help. I also have tried the "Mac Mini Spin":
(help.ubuntu.com/community/Macmini4-1/Lucid), which works with
the regular hard drive, not the SSD I'd like to use.
